HOMELINESS AND PLEASANT NURSING HOMES

As the architects at Fælledgården Plejecenter, JJW Architects has worked both on renovation and new construction. One of their benchmarks has been to create homeliness to ensure the most pleasant transition between the elderly's own homes and their new care homes.

In order to avoid an institutional expression, JJW Architects has chosen a solid wooden floor from Junckers in the wood species Ash, in the common living room and in the nursing home's 193 apartments.

Juncker's quality hardwood flooring has been selected as care centers are regularly exposed to wear and tear and the floor must withstand to be sanded and treated with floor lacquer many times.
