Betlehem Museum of The Mind
THE PERFECT SET FOR THE PERMANENT DISPLAY
In connection with extensive renovation and refurbishment works Junckers solid oak flooring was chosen for the Bethlem Royal Hospital Museum of the Mind.
By extending and re-organising the space, Architects Fraser Brown MacKenna have created a larger, more open gallery as well as a conservation studio, education spaces, temporary exhibition galleries and an environmentally controlled archive storage unit.
The understated interior scheme features Junckers Oak plank flooring and white surfaces to act as a backdrop to the museum’s permanent collection of treatment methods and implements of almost 800 years of psychiatric care.
Hardwearing and easy to maintain, Junckers solid wood floors are ideal for public spaces with high traffic. The 20.5mm thick planks can be sanded and re-finished several times, giving the floor a virtually limitless lifespan.
