Dark wood flooring is often specified where a space calls for a more defined and architectural expression. The deeper tones create contrast, frame interiors and bring a sense of weight to commercial and residential environments.

Junckers dark wood flooring is crafted from 100% solid hardwood, offering a robust surface suited to areas with consistent foot traffic such as offices, hospitality settings and high-end residential projects. The darker finishes enhance the natural grain of the timber while providing a consistent and controlled appearance across larger floor areas.

A range of finishes and formats allows specifiers and contractors to select a solution that aligns with the project’s visual intent and practical requirements. Darker floors are a considered choice for interiors where durability, refinishability and long-term value are key.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW

Interior designers often combine timeless pieces with contemporary elements to create a balanced and refined space. A key design principle is to introduce contrast — and dark wood flooring provides the perfect foundation. It anchors the room, adds depth and enhances both modern and classic interiors.

A DARK WOOD CREATES CONTRASTS

Dark wood flooring is ideal if you want colours and materials to stand out. Light walls, soft textiles and bold accents all gain clarity and impact when paired with a darker floor. Junckers dark wood flooring enhances the natural grain of the timber while creating a strong visual base for the entire room.

DOUBLE UP ON DARK

Junckers’ best-selling dark wood floor is called Black Oak, a wonderfully rich, dark solid oak floor with highly visible grain patterns. The dark stain mimics the natural process known as ‘bog oak’, where felled oak trees submerged in bogs take on a deep, dark hue, which drawn deep into the tree trunk.

In a similar fashion, the dark colour in our Black Oak floor is drawn right down through each floorboard, ensuring the rich, deep stain goes way beyond the surface. This means our Black Oak floors withstand the wear and tear of daily life and can even be sanded and refinished without losing their good looks.

Our dark wood floors are pre-finished, with a perfect, factory applied seal of oil or lacquer. Not only does this process render our dark wooden floors strong and durable, they are ready to use and walk on as soon as they are installed. Junckers dark wood floors also work perfectly with underfloor heating and are PEFC and FSC® certified.

Our dark wood flooring is available in a wide variety of shades, designs, lengths and widths, including plank flooring, two-strip wood flooring, herringbone floors and the stunning Hexparket hexagonal parquet floor
