GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This instruction describes how to conduct cleaning and maintenance of Junckers un-finished and pre-finished Sylva Squash floors installed in squash courts.

All Junckers Sylva Squash floorboards are from factory sanded to a rough finish for grip purposes.
Further more the pre-finished Sylva Squash floorboards are treated with one coat of a hard-wearing factory applied polyurethane lacquer for easy cleaning purposes.

DAILY / WEEKLY CLEANING

- Daily vacuum and/or sweep the floor to remove surface dust and grit.
- An anti static sweeper, e.g. a Vee mop is effective means of dust removal.
- Any stubborn black scuff marks can be removed with a small amount of white spirit applied to a cloth.

OCCASIONAL CLEANING

Un-finished floorboards:
- If there is a persistent problem with dust, a slightly damp mop will remove the majority of the dust from the floor.
- Don´t use a floor washing machine and only use clean water, no cleaning agent.

Pre-finished floorboards:
- Use a mild solution of Junckers Sport Cleaner and wash the floor with a slightly damp mop.
- Alternatively use a hand-held trigger sprayer and a rotary polishing machine mounted with a soft cleaning pad.
- To retain the slip resistance of the floor, degrease by spray buffing with a solution of Junckers Neutralizer.
- Don´t use a floor washing machine for the purpose.

LONG TERM MAINTENANCE

When the finish in a squash court wears smooth and becomes slippery, it must be re-surfaced by following directions:

Un-finished floorboards:
- Sand along the length of the floorboards.
- Final sanding must be conducted with sandpaper grit 40.
- Then apply line markings.

Pre-finished floorboards:
- Sand along the length of the floorboards.
- Final sanding must be conducted with sandpaper grit 60.
- The floor can then be treated with one coat of Junckers HP800 Sport lacquer plus linemarking paint.

Line markings:
- Line markings can be carried out using Junckers HP Sport Linemarking paint.
- To avoid bleeding of the paint under the tape, it’s recommended to seal the tape edges with clear lacquer before paint is applied.
