PREPARATION

NOT PREVIOUSLY SEALED FLOORS

Surface treatment with PUR Floor Sealer requires little preparation, but the floor must of course be completely clean before sealing.

When the floor has not been previously sealed with PUR Floor Sealer, dirt, soap residue and old surface treatment such as wax or polish must be removed. This is easily done with our deep-cleaning soap PUR Intensive Cleaner, which is worked in with a polisher fitted with a black nylon paddle.

After a final wash with clean water and drying, the floor is ready to be sealed with PUR Floor Sealer.

SEALING

THE FIRST TIME WITH PUR

The sealing of a previously untreated floor is carried out after initial preparation with two coats of PUR Floor Sealer.

To ensure good adhesion, lightly sand the cleaned surface before application. Remember to remove sanding dust.

No sanding is required between the two applications, but for a durable result, it is important to allow the sealer to dry for at least 3 hours before applying the final coat.

If there are line markings, logos or other shapes on the floor, these should be applied after the first coat of sealant.

PREVIOUSLY SEALED FLOORS

If the floor has previously been treated with PUR Floor Sealer, the work can be done in a few hours.

In preparation, the floor only needs to be degreased with PUR Intensive Cleaner Supreme mixed with warm water. Cleaning can be done with a mop or floor scrubber.
Once the floor is dry, lightly sand the surface, remove sanding dust and then apply a single coat of PUR Floor Sealer.

Do not compromise on removing sanding dust. Residual sanding dust will always impair the adhesion of the PUR sealer.
