Corporate social responsibility
Since the beginning of Junckers, corporate social responsibility has been an integral part of the way we conduct our business.
In 1930, long before it became trendy or politically correct, the young forester Flemming Juncker searched for ways to utilize and preserve one of our most valuable resources – the forests. At that time there was very little focus on environment and sustainable forestry. When Flemming Juncker implemented his ideas about care and sustainable utilization of the forests, his company and the beautiful Junckers floors were born.
Human rights and anti-corruptionIn addition to employee rights, human rights in a company perspective are about a healthy and safe working environment. In Denmark, these areas are widely governed by legislation and collective agreements; but we also want to act in accordance with high ethic standards and respect laws and cultures outside Denmark.
Social and working conditionsThe Company's objective is to be profitable and, thus, contribute positively to maintaining and creating workplaces. It is our aim to be a decent, responsible and environmentally conscious company. By virtue of the existing work functions, Junckers offers job opportunities to individuals who may have difficulties getting jobs elsewhere. Every year, Junckers Welfare Foundation distributes small amounts to existing employees or their survivors.
Working environment and safetyAs for working environment, the Company is certified according to OHSAS 18001 and announcement no. 923 (of the Danish Ministry of Business and Industry), and, as part hereof, policies and strategies have been drawn up both within health care and the flexible labour market. We want to promote health and safety for all our employees through information, workplace assessment, employee interviews and training in addition to reasonable operating procedures by setting high standards for the maintenance of our operating facilities and equipment in general and by supervising our results carefully with the purpose of eliminating any kind of personal injury in our place of work.
Junckers has established an environmental management in order to be able to improve the environment and the working environment in a structured way, including the prevention of environmental accidents and occupational injuries. As an important side benefit, the environmental management reduces the Company's actual and potential costs, e.g. through the reduction of expenses relating to absence due to occupational injuries and the reduction of insurance premiums, etc.
